Bagheera:

One incredibly cool cat ...

Hi, I'm Bagheera! My great foster humans named me after the beautiful panther in The Jungle Book. I'm told that I'm a big slender and sleek boy with a mesmerizing saunter. I am fully enjoying this 2nd chance at life.

It was a very close call for me; I am extraordinarily grateful to be alive and that a kind veterinary clinic took me in and saved me when I was a super sick boy. They operated on me and treated and finally cured my severe infection, working for months to make me a healthy happy boy. They have been SO good to me and I am one extremely fortunate guy!

I don't dwell on my past so I'll keep my background brief. I was in my original home for 3 years when I contracted a UTI. I wasn't given any medical attention and the UTI got VERY bad. I was in so much pain and wasn't always able to make the litter box so I was put out on a little porch for over a month. On one very cold night (single digits) a super nice dog heard me crying from the pain; he got his mom to come to my rescue (she was told I was no longer wanted because of my UTI). She called her vet and was told to rush me right in. The owner, vet, vet tech and staff all stayed and worked after hours to save me. I have many guardian angels.

I'm current staying at the vet clinic with another rescue cat, my pal Morty. I think I'd get along with other cats and maybe even dogs. I will always try hard to be the best cat I can be. Thanks so much for reading about me!

Breed:Medium Hair - Tabby
Color:Mackerel
Sex:Male
DOB:July 4, 2010
Calvin

Calvin:

Say Hi to Calvin! What a unique looking cat. Don't be fooled by how he looks in his cage right now, he is really super friendly and loving. (Ask one of our volunteers to show you a video of how loving he is in his foster home). He was the smallest of the group when they were first found. He was also the one that took the longest to understand people are friends! He went from hissing and scared to laying in laps and purring/sleeping. He still gets a little concerned about loud noises, but craves love from people. He enjoys time with people or other animals and always looks for the nearest toy to run and play with. He will greet you at the door, groom other animals and sleep beside you.

Consider giving Calvin a home?

  • Loves other animals including dogs (sleeps with a 60 lb. lab)
  • Does great with other cats!
  • Purrs loud
  • Does not bite or scratch
  • Enjoys laps and people

Curly:

“Curly is everything we love about black cats, a super sweet boy!”

Hi! My name is Curly and I live with my brothers, Moe and Larry. I’m the middle kid  in terms of size. My distinguishing features are: very soft fur, a cute little white patch of fur on my chest and a dot on my left eye.

When we were only a couple of days old our mom was hit by a car. We were extremely fortunate to have a great clinic take us in who lovingly bottle-fed and raised us by hand so I am exceptionally great with people.

I’m good with other cats and animals. I’m very kind with good energy; I love to play, be held, petted and brushed and I have a great purr!

I hope you’ll consider meeting me - I’m told I’m a sweetie pie and very very friendly

Izzy and I were part of a litter of Seven! We were adopted together and spent many happy years with our adopted family but hard times fell upon our family and we ended up at Companion Animal Hospital of Wakefield (CAHOW) and now we need your help finding a new forever home.

We are very loving and will purr when our bellies are rubbed.

We would like to be adopted together. Please call CAHOW and you can meet us in person!

"Larry is as sweet as he is soft and he has the softest fur ever!"

Hi! My name is Larry and I live with my two brothers, Curly and Moe. I’m the biggest of the 3 of us and also have the softest fur. I have a little white patch on my chest and another one on my belly. In the photo above of the 3 of us, I’m the one (cutely) hanging over the top perch.

When we were only a couple of days old our mom was hit by a car. We were extremely fortunate to have a great clinic take us in who lovingly bottle-fed and raised us by hand so we are great with people.

Thank you for caring so much and reading about me!

Margie

Color:Orange and White Tuxedo
Sex:Female
DOB:October 6, 2010
Margie

Margie:

"A gorgeous petite kitty cat, Margie will melt your heart."

"Margie is all sweetness, a darling girl. We love her."

Margie is short for Margarine, she was named for her beautiful coloring. She is healthy and happy and loves to be held and petted; she also loves to play. Her fur is extremely soft and beautiful.

Margie was found outside of Starbucks. She is one happy camper ever since her welcomed rescue. She seems downright grateful to all the kind folks caring for her at the veterinary clinic where she is staying. Margie is an exceptional and loving sweet kitty cat.

This wonderful little girl is looking for her loving forever home.

Marmalade

Breed:Short Hair
Color:Orange and White
Sex:Female
DOB:May 1, 2007
Marmalade

Marmalade:

Lady Marmalade came to us as a stray that was living in the woods behind the home of a nice couple (who began to feed her). She made herself right at home by sleeping on their porch and eating treats from their hands. She also enjoyed all the love and petting that they gave her.

Lady M is a stunning cat with beautiful markings. Her fur is very soft and thick …. snow white with large patches that are a striking orange color (dark like the sunset). Her eyes are also very beautiful and they match the tawny orange in her coat. She has a very pink nose with a sweet orange smudge on the side.

This wonderful girl had a rough life before Hobbes House. They found a BB (from a gun) under the skin in her side. But that hasn’t kept her from being incredibly sweet and loving. She enjoys being petted, scratched behind the ears and will stand on her hind legs to get more attention. She loves kisses on the head and will ‘head butt’ you asking for more ! Lady M will sit beside you or lay herself across your lap … especially when you have a blanket for her to snuggle into. Wait until you hear her soft purr showing you how much she returns your love. This girl will steal your heart.

  • Enjoyed living with a "cat" friendly yellow Lab.
  • LOVES petting and brushing time.
  • Her preference is to be an only cat but doesn't seem to mind other kitties as long as they play nicely with her.
  • Loves to give kitty smooches

Moe:

"You can't help but fall in love with Moe."

Hi, my name is Moe! I live with my brothers, Larry and Curly, and we are three happy and healthy guys, looking for our forever home. When we were only a couple of days old our mom was hit by a car. We were extremely fortunate to have a great clinic take us in. They lovingly bottle-fed us and raised us by hand so we are extraordinarily comfortable with people.

I'm also good with other cats and animals. I have great energy and love to play and be brushed and petted and held. I have a great purr! My brothers and I need ways to distinguish ourselves from each other so here goes: I have golden eyes, I'm all black (no white on chest or belly) and I'm the smallest of the 3 of us. I've been told I’m a real cutie-pie

If you're able to adopt me, I promise to give you SO much in return!

Thank you, Moe

Twix

Breed:Short Hair
Color:Silver Torbie
Sex:Female
DOB:March 10, 2010
Twix

Twix:

Meet beautiful Twix! She is a interesting color (Silver Tabby with orange mixed in). She was living behind a house - scared in the woods - with her brother Avery. She is a very sweet and loving girl. She has a loud purr and when comfortable enjoys people and their laps. She does play with (and sleep with) other cats and kittens. Twix loves to be petted and purrs often. She will take a little longer before she is comfortable (and confident enough) to run and meet you at the door. She is not aggressive at all toward people or other animals. Toys are another fan favorite (she will throw them around to keep herself entertained).

Ideal Home: A place with another cat to cuddle with. Someone who will give her the time to come out of her shell.

  • Grooms and sleeps with other cats
  • Loves dogs!!
  • Uses scratching post/cardboard
  • Does not bite or scratch
  • Loves to be petted!

ASK one of our volunteers if you wish to see a video of Twix at home.
